JOHOR BARU – Malaysian police have apprehended a 40-year-old Singaporean man following an alleged road rage incident that occurred on June 7. The arrest took place at 6:20 PM on June 8, executed by a team from the Criminal Investigation Division of the Johor Baru North police headquarters.

According to Johor Baru North police chief Balveer Singh Mahindar Singh, the incident began when a 31-year-old Malaysian man reported that he was honked at by a Singapore-registered Toyota Altis. The complainant stated that the Singaporean driver was dissatisfied with the way his BMW was blocking the path in the Taman Tun Aminah area.

An argument ensued between the two drivers, during which the Singaporean allegedly kicked the complainant’s car, resulting in damage. Fortunately, the complainant did not sustain any injuries during the altercation. The incident was captured on video and subsequently went viral on social media, drawing significant public attention.

Police Investigation and Charges

Following the incident, police conducted checks on the Singaporean driver, who was found to have no prior criminal record and tested negative for drugs. The authorities have indicated that the Singaporean will be brought to court in Johor Bahru on June 9 for a remand application. He faces charges under Section 426 of the Penal Code for mischief and damage to property, as well as Section 509 for uttering insults.
