Sheik Alau’ddin, a two-time world champion in silat, has been a prominent figure in the martial arts community. Crowned world champion in 1990 and 1994, he assumed the role of national silat coach in 1999, earning accolades such as the four-time Coach of the Year award and the Public Service Medal in 2000.

Arrest Details and Ongoing Investigation

The Singapore Police Force confirmed the arrest on Thursday. However, due to the ongoing investigation, detailed information is limited. The authorities stated, “We are not able to comment further as the investigation is ongoing.”

Sheik Alau’ddin’s leadership has been synonymous with success for SSF. The four-time SEA Games gold medallist has not only elevated the performance of the athletes but has also garnered recognition and awards for the federation.

This recent arrest follows a prior controversy in SSF, where a police report was lodged against the finance director for irregularities in salary payments to coaches back in February earlier this year. Sport Singapore initiated an investigation, expressing serious concerns about SSF’s finance practices.
