S’PORE STOPS ACCEPTING NEW APPLICATIONS FOR WORK PASS FROM HIGH RISK COUNTRIES

MOM said in a press release that Singapore is reducing entry approvals for work pass holders from higher risk countries, this is due to the resurgence of Covid-19 cases and new virus variants emerging in several countries.

However, this move excludes workers who are needed for key strategic projects and infrastructural works, who will continue to be allowed to enter Singapore.

Work pass holders from higher risk countries who have already obtained approvals will have their entry into Singapore rescheduled from 11 May onwards.

This includes countries such as Brunei, Taiwan, Mainland China, Australia, Macau, Hongkong and New Zealand.

Work pass holders under Construction, Marine Shipyard and Process (CMP) who have already obtained approval, will be allowed entry as approved, save for a small group of workers who have their planned arrivals prior to 7 June; they will be reschedules to arrive in the subsequent weeks.

Likewise, migrant domestic workers with prior approval will be allowed entry as well.

All other work pass holders who obtained approval to enter Singapore before 5 July will not be allowed entry.
