Facebook user Annabella Tan shared on Facebook about how she made a hotel booking on Trip.com thinking that it was in SGD because her location was in Singapore.
She added that even when she was checking out of the booking page, her transaction showed $175.38, which she still thought was in SGD.
However, she later found out that the denomination used was in USD and that the app’s customer service refused to compensate her.
Here is what she said
This is my first time using this Trip.com. The denomination is really misleading. I was not aware the denomination in trip.com app is in USD.
All the denomination is $ which I believed is in SGD since my location is in SG. So by the time i checked out, it’s still showing $175.38.
I was not aware the denomination for $ is referred to USD. Credit card message also never remind the actual denomination is in USD.
The app customer service refused to compensate and they kept saying they never change the currency. But for first time user, this is so misleading.
As for Agoda, they will clearly denominate the currency in SGD, USD etc.
