A woman from Singapore had driven her car to a Johor Bahru shopping mall and when she returned to her car at the carpark, she found her car window smashed and her bag stolen.
The incident happened on 23 July at around 8pm, according to 8 World News.
The woman had driven to the mall and parked her car on the 2nd storey of the carpark, near the entrance.
After finishing her shopping with her boyfriend, they returned to their car and found the passenger side window of their black Volkswagen Scirocco smashed.
Glass fragments were also seen on the passenger seat, and a security guard was seen standing beside their car.
The security told the couple that the carjacker had kicked him and told him to mind his own business, before fleeing with his loot.
The woman said that the had lost about $200 in cash that was kept inside the vehicle, and she also had to spend about $400 to repair her car’s damaged window.
She added that thankfully her passport and IC were kept separately from the stolen bag, and that the carjacker had only taken her bag and not her passport.
The incident has since been reported to the Malaysian police, and the management of the mall also said that they are aware of the incident and will reach out to the woman to follow up.
