A woman was driving her car along Mountbatten, down a narrow road, when she crossed paths with a cement mixer; and she ended up being splattered by the cement.

Member of Parliament (MP) for Mountbatten, Lim Biow Chuan, posted a photo of the unfortunate incident on his Facebook page, saying that he is asking the Land Transport Authority (LTA) to step up enforcement action against the cement trucks to prevent similar accidents from happening again.

The owner of the car then responded to his post and commented on it, revealing that her windscreen was covered with cement which reduced her visibility on the road.

She also added that some of the cement couldn’t be removed, and asked what would’ve happened if she was a cyclist instead.

She then urged LTA to do more to track down the irresponsible drivers and contractors, as she commended Lim for reporting on the incident promptly.

Lim Biow Chuan’s Facebook post

Oh no!! This resident stopped her car and complained about a cement truck that caused the cement to be splashed into her car.

I am asking LTA to step up enforcement action against the cement trucks so that no driver will have to suffer such an incident again.

Driver responds in comments

This is my car. It happened along crescent road at about 11.20 this morning. The truck sped by and the cement splashed onto my car. My windscreen was covered with cement which reduced my visibility. It took me a painful 10 min to inch my way home. Unfortunately some of the cement could not be removed. Imagine if I am a cyclist. Imagine if it was more than just cement, it could cause serious injuries. I hope LTA can do more to track down such irresponsible drivers and contractors! Kudos to Mr Lim and his Team for promptly reporting this incident.
