The Malaysian Police conducted an operation against errant drivers and 5 individuals were tested for alcohol levels and 2 individuals were caught driving under the influence of alcohol.
One of them is a Singaporean.

DRUNK OPERATION BSPT IPD JBU INCLUDING A SINGAPORE CITIZEN WAS ARRESTED UNDER THE OFFENCE OF SEC. 45 APJ 1987
On 21/04/2020, The Department of Traffic Investigation and Enforcement of Johor Bahru North District carried out an operation known as “MABUK OP” around the administrative area of Taman Tun Aminah Hall in Jalan Sutera Danga . The operation targets road users who drive or ride under the influence of alcohol that exceeded the allowable alcohol limits.
During the operation, there was an inspection on 5 individuals under 30s-40s suspected of driving under the influence of alcohol, 3 of the individuals had negative results, while 2 individuals were arrested for allegedly driving under the influence of alcohol that exceeds the safety limits, including a Singaporean citizen driver.
This offence will be under Section 45A (1) Road Transport Act 1987 (Amendment 2020).
If convicted, one can be jailed for no more than 2 years and a fine of no less than ten thousand ringgit and no more than thirty thousand ringgit for the first offence.
During this operation, there have been inspections against 61 vehicles and has issued as many as 23 notices for various types of traffic offences.
This operation was carried out with the purpose of educating road users in order to comply with road rules especially drink driving and especially ahead of the festive season.
