My bf just received his bonus for his first job and he asked me if I want him to buy anything for me. Since we have plans to get married next year, I asked him to buy me a 2-carat diamond ring from tiffany, which would cost around $50k. To my horror, he said I am being too demanding.
He even suggested we get an engagement ring from a local jewelry store instead. How can he say that? It’s every girl’s dream to have a nice engagement ring what. Somemore his bonus is like $24k. He just needs to top up a little bit more to buy the ring. For the past two years, other than paying for meals and overseas trips and occasionally giving me handmade gifts, he has never gifted me anything significant. Can’t he just be generous for once? For goodness’ sake, I only have this one small request and he is not even willing to fulfill it.
Gosh I’m so disappointed in him I can’t even imagine having a future with him anymore. What should I do? Should I persuade him to buy the ring or just break up with him since he is so stingy?
