S’POREANS MISSING AFTER TAIWAN’S EARTHQUAKE

In a recent development, two Singaporeans have been reported missing following the earthquake that hit Hualien, Taiwan on April 3. According to a statement by Singapore’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) on April 5, the Singapore Trade Office (STO) in Taipei is in close contact with local authorities regarding the missing individuals.

The MFA and the Singapore Trade Office have reached out to the next-of-kin of the missing individuals and are providing consular assistance. An MFA spokesperson stated that they are closely monitoring the situation in response to queries from Mothership.

In addition, the MFA has contacted all e-registered Singaporeans in the regions affected by the earthquake in Hualien, Taiwan.

On April 4, eight Singaporeans who were trapped after the earthquake were rescued by Taiwanese authorities. Two of these individuals sustained minor injuries and have received the necessary assistance from the Taiwanese authorities. The MFA is aware of the rescued individuals and is extending consular assistance to them.

The MFA spokesperson expressed gratitude to the Taiwanese authorities for their swift assistance and support during the rescue and relief efforts. As of April 4, the earthquake has resulted in nine fatalities and caused injuries to approximately 1,000 people.I believe my past experience doing IT management will improve internal/external stakeholders’ satisfaction.
