Facebook user Ajaq Burg recently took to Facebook after his mum received a letter from the Commercial Affair Department (SPF) to attend a police interview. It was believed that there were many mobile shops using his mum’s nric to sign up for lines and phones.

When you intend to purchase a phone or sign up for simcard at any mobile retail shop for eg:

+ Digi Mobile Retail Shop
+ Woodland Mobile Store
+ Yishun Mobile Hub Store
+ Geylang Mobile Hotspot Store
+ carousel as well
Please be careful ya especially when you provide them your NRIC. This idiot mobile shop owner or their staff being using our NRIC to sign up a line or purchase a new phone and sell it to third parties without our consent.
That is why sometime you will receive an anonymous sms ads like signing up personal loan, scam and etc.
Last week my mum received a letter from Commercial Affair Department from (SPF) to attend a notice of police interview which take place yesterday. She was told by the IO that there are various mobile shop using her nric to sign up for line or purchased a phone to third parties.
The IO provide her a list of photo and details to let her recall back whether did she visited any of the shop or staff that assisted her during the process of signing up sim card and etc.
It seem that this people must had share to other shop owners as well.
Oh yah not just her, yesterday there among 10 person at the station waited for their turn to attend notice of police interview same case.
So my advised pergi authorised shop dealer like starhub, m1, singtel and etc. Much safer.
