STUBBORN CYCLIST CAUGHT BY POLICE RIDING INSIDE EXPRESSWAY TUNNEL

A video emerged online showing a cyclist being caught by the police for cycling inside an expressway tunnel.

The incident happened on 8 February at about 2.28am, at the KPE.

The cyclist was seen being escorted by a few police officers, with one of the officers pushing his bicycle away.

A couple of police cars were also seen at the scene, with their sirens and lights blaring.

Potential penalties

The authorities have put up no cycling signs at the entrances of more than 50 expressways since October 2021.

It is an offence to ride bicycles and electronic bikes on the expressways, persons caught riding bicycles on the expressways face a fine of $150.
