SUSPECTED OMICRON CLUSTER – ANYTIME FITNESS @ BUKIT TIMAH ORDERED TO CLOSE

The Anytime Fitness gym at Bukit Timah Shopping Centre was found by SportSG to have breached Safe Management Measures (SMMs) and was ordered to close for 10 days from 22 December.

This is following the emergence of the first suspected Omicron cluster there and SportSG added that the gym had been issued a notice of composition.

The gym had failed to put in place measures to ensure that the gym users followed the safe management measures.

MOH previously said on 21 December that 3 Covid-19 cases were linked to the outlet, of which two have tested preliminarily positive for the Omicron variant – the third case is still undergoing tests.

The three cases had visited the outlet at Bukit Timah Shopping Centre between 15 to 17 December.

SportSG urged all sport and fitness operators and patrons to remain vigilant as they work closely with the industry to bring sports and exercise back in a safe and responsible manner.
