SUV CARRYING 4 S’POREANS TO GENTING CRASHED INTO M’SIAN CAR, KILLING DRIVER ON THE SPOT

A fatal accident involving a Malaysian driver and another 4 Singaporeans in a separate car, saw the former being killed and both their cars being wrecked in the aftermath.

A Malaysian driver who was on his way to work in his Malaysia-registered Mitsubishi Lancer was killed in a traffic accident after a white Toyota Estima carrying 4 Singaporeans to Genting crashed into his vehicle.

The fatal accident occurred on 5 May at about 6.30 am in the morning along the North-South Expressway heading towards Melaka from Johor.

According to the Alor Gajah district police chief Arshad Abu, both cars were driving in the same direction at the time when one of the vehicles suddenly swerved into the next lane, resulting in the collision, as reported by The Star.

Sin Chew Daily reported that the Toyota with the Singaporeans on board had crashed into the deceased’s Mitsubishi while switching lanes from the left to the right lane.

Arshad added that it was also not raining at the time and the weather was fine.

The impact of the accident was so great that the Singaporeans’ Toyota Estima flipped upside down after crashing onto the road, while the deceased’s Mitsubishi also flipped and landed on its side.

The 41-year-old deceased from Kota Bahru, Kelantan, who works as a site supervisor, died at the scene after suffering severe injuries to his head.

According to media reports, he was reportedly on his way to work at Port Dickson at the time of the fatal accident.

The 4 Singaporeans inside the Toyota Estima were all conveyed to the Hospital Melaka and are reportedly in stable condition.

Both of the vehicles in the accident have also been seized by the Malaysian police and investigations into the accident are currently underway.
