Sylvia Chan, co-founder of NOC, recently announced her new venture as a life coach and is currently open to taking on clients. In a series of Instagram Stories, she expressed her excitement for the various projects she has been involved in since late 2021. Among these projects, she highlighted her studies to become a life coach as the most exhilarating one.
According to the American coaching platform BetterUp, a life coach is an individual who provides guidance and support to clients, assisting them in overcoming personal or professional challenges and helping them achieve their goals. It is important to note that life coaches differ from therapists, as they focus on personal and career development rather than mental health issues.
Sylvia explained that her role as a life coach would involve leveraging her diverse experiences, including personal, work, divorce, saga, consulting, entrepreneurial, and creative experiences, along with her training, to assist others with their challenges. She expressed her readiness to accept clients and shared a Google Form link for potential clients to sign up.
“Numerous requests” from people to share her life lessons
Sylvia’s decision to become a life coach stemmed from numerous requests she received from people who wanted her to share the valuable lessons she learned from her personal journey. However, she was determined to acquire the necessary skills and knowledge before imparting her insights to others. In her words, she aspired to become a professional life coach, well-versed in effective frameworks and strategies, to guide her clients towards a better future.
Her primary goal as a life coach is to provide practical and actionable advice to her clients, allowing them to benefit from her own stories and experiences. Sylvia believes in tangible results and aims to support her clients in achieving positive outcomes.
$35 to $88 for 60 mins
Sylvia’s coaching sessions are scheduled to commence next month, and as she is still in the process of completing her coaching program (scheduled to graduate in July), she is offering a special flexible coaching rate to her clients. The rate options include S$35, S$60, or S$88 for a 60-minute call, allowing clients to choose based on their commitment level. Additionally, clients have the option to give consent for their coaching sessions to be recorded for Sylvia’s coursework. These recordings will be shared with her “Master Coach” for feedback and evaluation.
It is important to note that signing up through the Google Form does not guarantee a spot, as Sylvia is selectively choosing clients whose goals and values align with hers. The selection process involves reviewing the clients’ self-descriptions and reasons for seeking coaching to ensure a suitable match. The chosen clients for her initial coaching batch will be notified by 31 May.
Sylvia emphasized her selective approach to clients in a separate post, explaining that she had learned from past experiences the importance of surrounding herself with individuals who are mutually beneficial and supportive. She no longer wishes to be a “fixer” or a “people pleaser” who depletes herself for others. Instead, she seeks clients who align with her values and with whom she can establish a mutually beneficial coaching relationship.
Sylvia encourages individuals to sign up only if they resonate with her message and approach. She also kindly advises those who may feel triggered or incompatible with her coaching philosophy to unfollow her and seek a different space that better suits their needs. She expresses gratitude to her followers and wishes them the best in finding their own supportive communities.
