The embattled YouTube channel Night Owl Cinematics (NOC) is in the middle of three lawsuits.
The first lawsuit was filed by NOC against CEO Sylvia Chan’s ex-husband Ryan Tan’s Reno King and a person named Tan Weiwen.
It is unclear who Tan Weiwen is but according to an article by AsiaOne back in 2014, Ryan was addressed as “Ryan Tan Weiwen” in the article.
And the other two lawsuits are between NOC’s subsidiary channel, Team NOC against their former artistes, Samantha Tan and Grace Lim.
Sylvia’s NOC vs Ryan’s Reno King

A pre-trial conference for the NOC vs Reno King lawsuit was held on 13 July at the High Court, with the case being categorised under “employment”.
Reno King is a video production company that was set up by Ryan Tan, Sylvia Chan’s estranged ex-husband and the co-founder of NOC.
Reno King is being represented by Jennifer Fong, Muhammad Imran Bin Abdul Rahim, Lawrence Tan and Mendel Yap from Eldan Law LLP.
NOC is being represented by Marissa Tan from Edmond Pereira Law Corporation.
Team NOC vs Grace Lim and Samantha Tan


The hearings for Team NOC vs their former artistes Grace Lim and Samantha Tan were listed as court dispute resolutions and the nature of the cases also stated “employment”
Team NOC vs Lim was held on 22 July last 2.30pm while Team NOC vs Samantha was held on 25 July at 2.30pm.
Grace Lim is being represented by Jasjeet Singh and Sunil Singh Panoo from Dhillon & Panoo LLC, while the other defendant Samantha Tan is being represented by Chooi Jing Yen and Chen Yongxin from Eugene Thuraisingam LLP.
Team NOC is being represented by the same counsels as the NOC vs Reno King case; Marissa Tan from Edmond Pereira Law Corporation.
