TADA DRIVER ASKS FOR EXTRA $5 TO DROP OFF PASSENGER AT LOBBY, SAYS IT’S FUEL MONEY

A netizen on Facebook shared that he booked a TADA ride for his elderly parents, to send them to New Tech Park. However, on the booking screen of the app, there was no option to choose which lobby to drop off at.

Upon reaching the destination, his parents was dropped off at a different lobby instead of the lobby that they wanted, and the driver purportedly asked for an extra $5 to drive them to the right lobby.

Here is what he said

Please beware of this driver *driver information redacted*

Booked a TADA to send my elderly parents to New Tech Park and they told him to drop them off at Lobby F but he demanded a extra $5 as the booking drop off point did not indicate Lobby F.

But on every angle this is ridiculous:

1. If you run a check on TADA, it does not give me the option to choose a specific lobby at New Tech Park

2. If you went to New Tech Park you will know the Lobby are in a straight line, from the first drop off point at Lobby A to Lobby F is only 200m. He claims he is incurring extra $5 worth of fuel charges for driving that 200m? Absolute nonsense I drive a car too.

3. My parents took TADA to there many times booking the same thing and ask the driver to head to Lobby F numerous time and this is first such case that a driver requested and said such nonsense reasoning.

@tada please do something about this driver. Everyone please beware of this scammer.

@everyone if you know him please get him to contact me.

And to the driver If you have any slight conscious please contact me at *phone number redacted* for an apology to my parents.

Netizens’ comments

  1. If it were me, app didn’t not show lobby F and it was an extra 200m I will pay driver extra. I won’t take advantages of whoever service me. Business is business.
  2. Maybe you should refer to the terms n conditions of the platform before u decide to press book. PHV drivers are out to earn a living not to do charity work.
200m may seem short distance, but to travel that distance the car still needs to consume fuel.
Since its just 200m, why can’t they just walk over?
U are also a driver but u choose not to send your parents and engage a PHV to carry out your responsibility as a child.
  3. Tada does not have specific location. It can be very vague. Hope TADA Singapore can do something to it.
  4. 4.8*… give him a poor rating to drop it further
