Man Claims Girlfriend Scammed Him Of S$30,000, Tracks Her Down And Stabs Her To Death After Knocking Her Off Motorcycle
A 35-year-old Taiwanese man has been arrested after allegedly tracking down his girlfriend, knocking her motorcycle off the road and stabbing her multiple times in a brutal attack that left her dead.
The incident took place late on June 26 in Hualien County, Taiwan. Police were alerted at around 11pm after members of the public reported what initially appeared to be a traffic accident near the Sakur Cemetery area.
When officers arrived, they discovered a motorcycle lying on the road. A further search of the area led to the shocking discovery of a seriously injured woman hidden inside a roadside drain beneath a lifted drain cover.
The 40-year-old victim had suffered more than 10 stab wounds and was barely conscious when she was found. She was rushed to hospital for emergency treatment but later succumbed to her injuries.
Suspect Arrested While Attempting To Flee
Police quickly launched an investigation and traced a vehicle believed to have been involved in the incident. Authorities determined that the car was heading north and was close to leaving Hualien County.
A coordinated operation involving highway police was launched, resulting in the arrest of the suspect at around 2am on June 27 inside the Hsuehshan Tunnel.
During questioning, the suspect reportedly admitted to carrying out the attack.
Relationship Turned Sour After Loan
According to investigators, the suspect and the victim had been in a relationship for approximately six years after meeting online.
The man claimed that the woman had recently borrowed NT$700,000 from him, equivalent to about S$30,000. He alleged that after receiving the money, her attitude towards him became increasingly cold and distant.
Believing that he had been deceived and financially exploited, the suspect reportedly became resentful and began planning the attack.
Tracker Installed On Victim’s Motorcycle
Police said the suspect drove from Nantou to Hualien on the day of the incident and allegedly installed a tracking device on the victim’s motorcycle without her knowledge.
Using the tracker, he followed her movements throughout the day before tailing her to a sparsely populated area near a cemetery later that night.
Investigators believe the suspect deliberately rammed the victim’s motorcycle, causing her to crash. He then allegedly attacked her with a knife before concealing her inside a drain and fleeing the scene.
The case has shocked many in Taiwan due to its apparent level of premeditation and violence.
Murder Investigation Ongoing
Taiwanese authorities have confirmed that the suspect has been handed over to prosecutors and is being investigated on suspicion of murder.
Police are continuing to examine the circumstances surrounding the loan dispute, the tracking device and the events leading up to the fatal attack.
The case remains under investigation.Man Claims Girlfriend Scammed Him Of S$30,000, Tracks Her Down And Stabs Her To Death After Knocking Her Off Motorcycle
