A spokeperson of Taliban, Inamullah Samangani said on Twitter that they has baned TikTok and PUBG in Afghanistan.
Claiming that the Tiktok app is immoral.
The decision was made during a cabinet meeting on Wednesday, and it is the first time the militant group has banned an app since taking control last year.
Here is their statement:
“We’ve received a lot of complaints about how the TikTok app and the PUBG game are wasting people’s time. The ministry of communications and information technology was ordered to remove the apps from internet servers and make them inaccessible to everyone in Afghanistan.”
“Cabinet decision: The Ministry of Communications and Information Technology is obliged to block the PUBG game and the application called Tikotak, which misleads the younger generation. Likewise, prevent as much as possible the publication of a channel that publishes immoral material and programs”
How the people of Afghanistan respond to the ban:
- We are just going to install VPNs, who cares.
- Like its going to make the country any better? In this country, woman are considered insignificant creatures
- How is this important? People are losing their lives in the country and they are worried about a phone app?
