From squashed people on an MRT platform, to a small boy being beaten up, to women having a catfight over a man, social media is often associated with the negative. Sigh…
On the other hand, there are rare but heartwarming stories of the brave, the kind, and the giving.
Below is my story.
Two words come to mind: efficiency! and kindness!
While walking home, I dropped my EZ link card into a steel covered monsoon drainage. I immediately called 1800 275 5555. It’s a Saturday evening dinner time.
Thank you very much to the staff at Essential Maintenance Services Unit (EMSU) when a helpful lady which I didn’t get her name (sounded like Ms Eyuan) who gladly helped to contact Tampines Town Council (TTC) who then summoned a foreman of a cleaning crew who responded swiftly and found me 5 mins later.
Though he told me that this problem was not under his jurisdiction and job; but he was so willing to help retrieve my EZ link card ($39 cash balance) from the monsoon drain without any hesitation at all.
I am very grateful to the foreman Mr Repon! 🙏
