A 16-year-old boy has been placed on probation after he was caught peeping at a female student in a junior college toilet. The incident occurred in July 2024, and the offender was sentenced on May 27, 2025, after admitting to his actions.

Caught in the Act

According to court records, the incident took place when a female student noticed a boy peering at her from underneath the divider of her toilet cubicle. The boy quickly left the female toilet upon realising he had been seen. The startled victim reported the encounter to her school, and a police report was subsequently filed.

Investigations later revealed that this was not an isolated occurrence. The boy had entered the same female restroom on three separate occasions on July 18, 2024. During his first two visits at 2:58pm and 3:13pm, he did not come into contact with anyone. On his third attempt at 3:48pm, he occupied a cubicle and later peeked at the girl in the adjacent stall by lowering his head beneath the partition.

Although the victim was shocked, she remained silent until the boy left, after which she alerted school authorities. Disturbingly, the boy returned the next day and entered female toilets twice more with the intent to peep at others.

Court Orders Rehabilitation Measures

The teenager faced six charges, including criminal trespass and voyeurism. He pleaded guilty to two of the charges and was sentenced to 18 months of supervised probation. As part of the court’s decision, he was also ordered to complete 60 hours of community service.

Additional conditions include adhering to a curfew and undergoing psychological or psychiatric treatment if deemed necessary. His parents were required to post a S$5,000 bond to ensure compliance with his probationary terms.

The boy reportedly told investigators that he committed the offences out of a desire to understand “how girls use the toilet.”
