Imagine walking home casually and you see a skull
In a shocking turn of events, a 15-year-old student made a grim discovery while jogging in the Ban Pho district of Chachoengsao Province, Thailand. On the evening of May 27, the teenager stumbled upon a black plastic bag containing a human skull hidden in the grass along a rural path near a pond in Moo 2, Saen Phu Dat subdistrict.
Details of the Discovery
According to reports from Thai news outlet Daily News, the area is a popular jogging route and fishing spot, frequented by locals. Upon investigation, police found that the skull was wrapped in a pink towel and showed signs of a maggot infestation, indicating it had been there for some time. A notable fracture, approximately 10 centimeters wide, was observed on the right side of the skull, suggesting the victim may have suffered a violent blow from a hard object.
Long strands of reddish-dyed hair, approximately 60 centimeters in length, were still attached to the skull, leading authorities to believe that the victim was likely a woman. However, no other human remains were found in the vicinity.
Ongoing Investigation
The skull has been sent to the Police General Hospital’s forensic institute for further examination. Local authorities are actively working to identify the victim and determine the circumstances surrounding her death. Given the area’s proximity to a Myanmar workers’ camp and public fishing spots, investigators have not ruled out the possibility that the victim may be a migrant.
Police are currently reviewing nearby CCTV footage, checking missing persons reports, and collaborating with local police stations to gather more information. The case is being treated as a potential murder, and efforts are underway to track down any suspects involved.
As the investigation continues, authorities are urging anyone with information related to the case to come forward. The community remains on edge as they await further developments in this unsettling incident.
