There are two more charges which will also be taken into consideration during his sentencing.

His deeds

He rented cars to drive using the identity of his dad after he watched a Youtube video to educate himself on how to operate a car.

He did this on Tribecar on 24 Sept 2020, submitting his Dad’s driving license and IC pictures as well as particulars to the app.

The application was then successful and he had control of a Tribecar account, allowing him to rent a vehicle which he did on eight occasions which he paid the rental for himself.

He took care to only drive in the mornings, between 12am to 8am.

Caught by road block

He was caught by a Police road block at CTE on 7 Oct 2020, when Police stopped his vehicle and asked him to show his license.

Two others were in the vehicle with him at the time, though they said that they were unaware that he was only 17 and was driving without a license.

He was then arrested for suspected cheating offences as well as traffic offences under the Road Traffic Act.

That was when he admitted that he had rented vehicles on eight occasions and taught driving to himself via videos on Youtube.
