TEMP IN ADMIRALTY HIT 36.7°C ON 13 MAY, HOT WEATHER TO CONTINUE IN JUNE

The weather in Singapore is expected to be hot and human in the first two weeks of this month, with the highest recorded temperature last month being 36.7°C.

In fact, there were 22 days last month where the maximum daily temperature hit above 34°C, of which 13 of the days saw temperatures exceed 35°C.

The highest recorded temperature was 36.7°C in Admiralty on 13 May, with the previous record being 36.5°C on 16 May 2010, and 3 May 2016.

Last month’s average monthly maximum temperature was recorded at 32.9°C, which was 0.6°C higher than the long term average of May and the second-highest recorded in the last decade.

However, despite the hot and humid temperature, Singapore experienced several days of thunderstorms and strong winds.

The daily total rainfall of 89.2mm was recorded at Tuas South, which was the highest daily total for the month of May.
