A temporary partial ceasefire has been declared earlier today in the Ukrainian cities of Mariupol and Volnovakha by the invading Russian forces invading Ukraine, to allow for civilians to evacuate from the cities.
A statement was released by the Russian Defence Ministry, saying that they have agreed with the Ukrainian forces to allow the evacuation of Ukrainian civilians from the two cities at 10am Moscow time, according to the Associated Press (AP).
According to the BBC, the ceasefire will last from 9am to 4pm local time (7am to 2pm GMT), and the evacuation will commence at 11am local time (9am GMT).
The evacuation route will be from Mariupol to Zaporizhzhia to the west, with buses leaving three locations in the city; private transport will also be permitted along the route.
Straying away from the agreed upon evacuation route is forbidden.
The decision for the temporary ceasefire came after Mariupol was blockaded by Russian forces just hours prior.
