An evil employer was convicted earlier today(July 6) for 6 charges which include insulting the victim’s modesty and causing hurt to the maid.
33-year-old Rosdiana Abdul Rahim abused her power as an employer and gave the maid endless amounts of torment throughout her employment. Although her employment period is short she has to face her employer every day.
How the maid was treated
- December 2017 – Pour powder all over her face and threatened her job security by saying that the employers will no longer be around if she returns to Singapore if she washed her face. The powder even got into the maid’s eye causing hurt.
- She ripped the maid’s clothing, exposed her bra and pinched her right breast followed by kicking the maid twice in her groin.
- She slams cupboard door against the arm of the maid while she was taking clothes.
- No off days were given during her employment neither was she allowed to take nap in the day.
- November 2017, employer called her “smelly” and forced the maid to shower infront of employer and she was told to change clothes with the windows open.
Later on, the employer even threatened to harm the maid’s family. The torture that the maid goes through was between 29 Sept 2017 to 12 December 2017.
The maid finally reported to the Police on 12 December 2017
Rosana will be back in court on Aug 17.
For insult of modesty, she can be jailed up to 1.5 years and/or fine
For causing hurt to the maid she can be jailed up to a maximum of 3 years and/or fine up to SGD$S7,500.
