The suspect, identified as Chaturong, is accused of beating the 55-year-old victim, identified as Nimit, to death before mutilating his body. The incident reportedly happened at around 10pm on Sunday, November 1, near Mae Lang Market in Bang Khla district.

Police officers from Bang Khla Police Station were alerted to the fatal assault and arrived at the scene, where they discovered Nimit lying on the road beside his black pickup truck. He had sustained severe injuries to his head and body.

Rescue workers attempted to revive him through cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), but he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Suspect Found Hiding Near Crime Scene With Weapons

Police subsequently located Chaturong hiding near the scene. He was reportedly carrying a wooden club and a knife when officers approached him.

After negotiations, officers managed to persuade the suspect to put down the weapons and surrender without further incident.

The victim’s girlfriend, identified as 30-year-old Chantima, told investigators that Nimit was her new boyfriend. She explained that she had ended her relationship with Chaturong approximately two months earlier before starting a relationship with the victim.

However, she alleged that her former partner had continued harassing the couple despite their separation.

Chantima’s account suggested that the suspect had struggled to accept the end of their relationship and had repeatedly caused problems for her and Nimit.

Suspect Claims He Was Betrayed By Ex-Wife

Chaturong reportedly gave investigators a different account of the relationship.

He claimed that Chantima had moved out of their shared home in Nakhon Ratchasima and relocated to Chachoengsao for employment.

The suspect accused her of secretly becoming involved with Nimit while they were still together. He also claimed that he had previously discovered the pair together.

According to the report, Chaturong admitted to physically assaulting Chantima during an earlier dispute, leaving her with serious injuries.

He further claimed that she had promised to end her relationship with Nimit, but he later discovered that the two were still seeing each other.

Suspect Allegedly Hid Inside Ex-Wife’s Rented Room

Chaturong told police that he travelled from Nakhon Ratchasima to Chachoengsao on the day of the incident.

He allegedly entered Chantima’s rented accommodation through an unlocked window and remained hidden inside until she returned with Nimit in the pickup truck.

The suspect claimed that his original intention was to attack Chantima. However, he alleged that Nimit punched him first, triggering the fatal confrontation.

Chaturong then allegedly attacked Nimit with a wooden weapon, causing fatal injuries. He also reportedly used a Stanley knife to mutilate the victim’s body, leaving the severed body part at the rear of the pickup truck.

According to the report, the suspect subsequently confessed to the killing, telling investigators that jealousy and anger had motivated his actions.

Police have charged Chaturong with intentional murder, while questioning was continuing as investigators worked to establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident.

The case has also raised concerns about violence following relationship breakdowns, particularly when harassment and threats continue after a couple has separated.
