In a harrowing incident in Samphan District, Nakhon Pathom Province, Thailand, a 47-year-old woman named Napatawong was brutally killed by her cousin, “Nice”, after she fought back against an attempted sexual assault. The tragic event unfolded on Wednesday afternoon, leading to a shocking discovery by a relative.
Details of the Incident
According to reports, the relative, Abhishi, became concerned when he could not reach anyone in the house and found the door locked. He climbed through an open window and discovered Nice sitting on the floor in boxer shorts, covered in blood. Upon checking upstairs, Abhishi found Napatawong lying dead on the bedroom floor with her throat slashed and severe bruises on her face and body.
The police, upon arrival, found a bloody machete in the room and a piece of tongue in Napatawong’s mouth, which was initially thought to be part of Nice’s tongue. Investigations revealed that Nice had a history of drug problems and had previously been sent to a rehabilitation center.
Circumstances Surrounding the Assault
Authorities suspect that Nice, under the influence of drugs, attempted to sexually assault Napatawong. In a desperate act of self-defense, she bit off part of his tongue, which enraged him and led to the fatal attack. The evidence of struggle in the room and the nature of Napatawong’s injuries support this conclusion.
Despite the overwhelming evidence, Nice denied the charges, claiming that “unidentified thieves” had broken into the house and attacked both him and his cousin. However, police found this account unconvincing, especially after drug tests on Nice’s blood and urine confirmed the presence of drugs.
Final Messages and Investigation
Before the incident, Napatawong had sent a distress message to her aunt, stating, “My kindness will get me killed,” indicating her awareness of the imminent danger she faced.
The police have stated that once Nice’s physical condition allows, they will complete the evidence collection and file criminal charges against him, including murder and attempted sexual assault.
