THE LAST MAN INVOLVED IN CHINATOWN GANG FIGHT ARRESTED

According to the media release, the last suspect involved in the Chinatown gang fight on the 10 May 2020 were arrested.

Muhammad Syukri Muhammad Iskandar, 22, was arrested on the 18 May 2020. He became the 14th person arrested in relation to the Chinatown gang fight incident.

He will be charged on the 20 May 2020, for his involvement of rioting with a deadly weapon. If convicted, he will face a jail term up to 10 years and caning.

The gang fight happened in the early morning of the 10 May 2020 at 3.30 am, at Block 101 Upper Cross Street, People’s Park Centre. It was believed that the incident was caused by a dispute over a woman.

A 45-year-old man was arrested along with the suspect for assisting him to hide from the police.

The investigation is ongoing.

Harbouring fugitive is a serious offence in Singapore, anyone caught with such action can be jailed and fine.
