Just an hour ago, I was helping my elderly father cross the pedestrian crossing right outside 888 Plaza along Woodlands Ave 4. The green man lit up, all the cars and buses came to a proper, civilized stop, and we started walking. Out of nowhere, this young punk on a heavily modified PMD comes blasting down the path, doesn’t even slow down for the red light, and dashes straight through the crossing.
My dad, who has knee issues and obviously cannot move fast, literally had to throw his weight forward and jump out of the way to avoid getting rammed flat by this idiot. If I hadn’t been holding his arm to pull him back, he would be in the A&E right now. The absolute worst part? This absolute clown didn’t even tap his brakes. He just glanced back, gave a brainless smirk, and sped off toward the HDB blocks.
This is not a one-off incident. If you live anywhere near Woodlands Ave 4 or frequent 888 Plaza, you know exactly what I’m talking about. This entire area is plagued by these absolute morons. Every single evening, you see them riding illegally on pedestrian walkways and roads, blasting their trash electronic remix music from cheap bluetooth speakers. Who exactly are they trying to impress?
It is painfully obvious they desperately crave attention. They probably come from a torn, broken childhood where nobody gave them a second glance, or their parents are just completely uneducated and failed to teach them basic human decency. Honestly, like father like son—if your parents didn’t have the civic-mindedness to raise a proper human being, you end up with a toxic piece of trash like this endangering senior citizens on a Tuesday afternoon.
Where is LTA when you actually need them? Do we have to wait for someone’s grandparent to get killed or permanently disabled before real enforcement actions are taken in Woodlands? To that specific punk: I hope you skid on an oil patch and wreck your illegal device. You are a absolute menace to society.
Edit: Thanks for the support everyone. To those asking, I’m going to check if any of the cars stopped at the junction caught his license plate or face on their dashcams. I will absolutely lodge an official report with LTA and SPF. This behavior needs to stop.
