A TikTok user shared an encounter he had with a traffic policeman who was very polite with him after being stopped for riding above the speed limit.
In the video, the motorist was seen being instructed by the TP officer to stop at the side of the road, and he was then asked if he knew the speed limit of the road he was on.
The man then said confidently, “70km/h?”, to which the officer then corrected him, “60!”, and the man remarked “eh alamak!”
The motorcyclist had been riding at 80km/h, which was 20km/h more than the speed limit, and the TP officer said that he was prepared to close one eye if the rider was riding at 70km/h, but 80km/h was too much.
The TP officer then questioned the rider about his tinted visor, and the motorcyclist then admitted to his illegal visor.
The officer said that visor below 80% clarity is illegal, and said that he was shocked that the man’s visor had a clarity of 2%, which the officer describes as being the lowest he had seen in his career.
The officer then joked that “i mean if you’re going to fail, you might as well fail spectacularly”.
The motorist was ultimately fined $200 and got 6 demerit points, but he remarked that there was no animosity towards the two officers because they were polite, not rude and just doing their jobs.
