A late-night confrontation along Pattaya Beach turned violent when an Indian tourist suffered a head injury after being struck with a high-heeled shoe during a heated dispute with a transgender S-worker. The dramatic incident, which took place around 3am on 5 September, has once again placed Pattaya’s nightlife under scrutiny.
The victim, identified as 25-year-old Suresh, later lodged a complaint at Pattaya City Police Station. Witnesses described the scene as chaotic, with revellers gathering to watch as police intervened.
According to officers, the altercation began when Suresh approached a 29-year-old transgender S-worker to enquire about her services. The individual allegedly quoted 1,000 baht for a short session and 4,000 baht for an overnight stay. The tourist agreed to the higher price but reportedly demanded to confirm the worker’s gender before proceeding.
Escalation Leads to Violence
Investigations revealed that the situation spiralled out of control when the tourist touched the S-worker’s private parts. Feeling insulted and humiliated, the transgender individual admitted to retaliating by striking Suresh with a high heel “two to three times.” The blows left the tourist bleeding from the head, prompting nearby bystanders to call for police assistance.
Both parties were escorted to Pattaya City Police Station for questioning. However, in a surprising twist, the suspect asked to use the restroom and allegedly slipped away through a back exit, managing to evade custody.
Police Lieutenant Colonel Wuttinan Kongdee, the investigating officer, confirmed that legal proceedings were underway. “A summons will be issued for the suspect to face charges relating to the assault,” he stated.
Police Appeal for Suspect to Surrender
Authorities have since urged the suspect to surrender voluntarily before stronger legal measures are taken. The incident has sparked renewed debate about tourist safety, nightlife crime, and the risks associated with transactional encounters in Pattaya.
Locals told reporters that disputes between tourists and S-workers were not uncommon but rarely escalated to such levels of violence. The latest case follows a string of recent incidents involving foreign visitors in Pattaya, including reports of theft and scams targeting tourists.
As investigations continue, Thai police are under pressure to restore confidence in Pattaya as a tourist destination, emphasising that assaults of this nature will not be tolerated.
