A netizen shared a video where a tree was struck by lightning and “exploded”, before falling and hitting his car that was passing by at the time.
The incident happened on 16 August at about 10.15am, and it was raining very heavily at the time due to the thunderstorm.
The netizen captioned his video:
“First time feeling so sick in the stomach. Lightninng struck the tree I was driving past, and a few big branches/trunks fell on my car.
And I just changed bonnet less than a month ago, now bonnet, left front and rear door, and left rear fender damaged.
Now that I finally have time to calm down and think, if I drove faster, the branch would’ve cracked through the front windscreen.
Even my lightning-fast reactions couldn’t avoid this.
Along Tagore Road towards Upper Thomson Road. Lightning struck tree causing it to explode while I was driving past. Happened around 10.15am today.”
