TUTOR BROUGHT GIRL OUT FOR $500 DINNER, CALLS HER “PRETTY” & “THE BEST”

A netizen shared how she went to a tuition centre when she was in JC and the tutor took her out to a $500 dinner, and that he would call her “pretty” and the “best girl” in class.

Here is the story

Looking for some advice. So I’m a girl that went to this tuition center when I was in JC. For privacy’s sake let’s call it Z Education.

When I first went there it was fine and I felt the teacher “E” was very good at teaching economics. So I continued on and even referred a few people over to his tuition center. Then things started getting weird.

I noticed he would call me “pretty” and “best girl” during class, which didn’t alarm me at first. The incidents kept happening, but as he would do that with everyone at Z education I didn’t think it was a big deal.

Then one day he asked if I needed private sessions for economics because it was starting to get difficult with elasticity concepts etc… so I agreed and we spent more time together. It felt nice that someone cared about me but I still couldn’t get it out of my head that this young teacher “E” cared for me so much, it was off.

And that was when it happened, he asked me out “for dinner” under the guise of “student bonding” and brought me to an expensive restaurant. I felt very uncomfortable because of the unreasonable number of compliments given to me during this “student bonding session”. The dinner was $478 and he just paid for it asking me not to worry about things.

Now I’m not a gold digger as my parents are somewhat fortunate enough to have taken care of me well, but even then I felt this was a bit extreme for a “student bonding session”.

He made multiple approaches towards me over the course of my 1.5 years at Z Education but I kindly declined as I had to pass my A levels. Ended up in a pretty good school overseas but I’m just very concerned about the new students of the tuition center. What should I do?

Netizens’ comments

  • Oh no, cai png auntie also keep calling me 帅哥,aka handsome boi. Should I also be worried? I saw her call other customer this term too… HOW?! What should I do now
  • Depends on the intention. Maybe he identified you as a prospective high flyer and he is hoping that you will then hire him one day into an executive position? So in that context the expensive treat is an investment for his future which will either make a loss or a gain.
