Two 17-year-olds have been arrested for their suspected involvement in a loan shark harassment case in Choa Chu Kang.
On April 9, at approximately 5:15 pm, the police received a report regarding an incident at a unit on Choa Chu Kang Street 62. The main gate of a flat was found locked with a bicycle lock, and red paint was splattered on the gate and front door.
Through investigations and the use of police camera images, the teenagers were identified and apprehended the same day. Police investigations are currently ongoing.
First-time offenders found guilty of loan shark harassment can be fined between $5,000 and $50,000, jailed for up to five years, and receive up to six strokes of the cane.
The police emphasized their zero-tolerance policy for loan-shark harassment activities and advised the public to avoid engaging with loan sharks or assisting them in any way.
