TWO ‘AUNTIES’ BELIEVED TO BE JAYWALKING KENA HIT BY MOTORCYCLE @ BOON KENG MRT

On the evening of March 20, a motorcycle collided with two women in their sixties near the Boon Keng MRT station, according to Shin Min Daily News.

According to the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF), who was alerted to the incident at approximately 7:55 pm, the accident occurred along Serangoon Road.

Believed to have jaywalked

The police informed Shin Min Daily News that a 47-year-old motorcyclist and two women, aged 68 and 73, were involved in the collision.

A passerby witnessed the aftermath of the accident and observed two elderly pedestrians lying on the road, with bystanders offering assistance.

The women, who were wearing orange, seemed to have been jaywalking when they were hit, according to sources.

Eyewitness’ account

An eyewitness who worked at a nearby shop told Shin Min that they heard a loud scraping sound and then saw several individuals aiding the two women and the motorcyclist, who had fallen off his vehicle.

The group moved the motorcycle to the side of the road, and the eyewitness also noticed some scratches on the motorcyclist’s arm.

The women were believed to be heading towards the bus stop when they were struck by the motorcycle.

The SCDF reported that both women were taken to Tan Tock Seng hospital for medical treatment.

The motorcyclist was evaluated for minor injuries but declined further hospitalization.
