Two elderly men had an 8-hour standoff with the Police after they were allegedly reported for trespassing and drug activities at a flat located at Red Hill.
According to Shin Min Ri Bao, The incident happened yesterday (May 3) at around 11.35 am on the fourth floor of Block 89, Redhill Close. It is understood that the owner of the house was not at home when the incident occurred and it is unclear how the two men broke nto the house.
At least a dozen officers were on the scene including those from Crisis Negotiation Unit, Special Operations Command and SCDF.
SCDF deployed airbags at the foot of the bloc as a precaution.
After 8 hours, the two men gave up without the Police having to conduct a forced entry. A 59-year-old and 62-year-old were subsequently arrested
Police investigations are ongoing.
