The Police media release reported two separate cases of outrage of molesting at Ang Mo Kio and Jurong East.
The offence of outrage of modesty under Section 354(1) of the Penal Code 1871 carries an imprisonment term of up to three years, a fine, caning, or any combination of such punishments.
Ang Mo Kio
The Police have arrested a 34-year-old man for his suspected involvement in a case of outrage of modesty.
On 8 July 2022 at about 5.20pm, the Police were alerted to a case where a woman was allegedly molested by an unknown man along Ang Mo Kio Avenue 4.
Through follow-up investigations, officers from Ang Mo Kio Police Division established the identity of the man and arrested him on 10 July 2022.
Jurong East
The Police have arrested a 32-year-old man for his suspected involvement in a case of outrage of modesty.
On 10 July 2022 at about 1.40 am, the Police were alerted to a case where a woman was allegedly molested by an unknown man on the overhead bridge towards Jurong East Bus Interchange. Through follow-up investigations and with the aid of images from CCTV cameras, officers from Clementi Police Division established the identity of the man and arrested him.
Charged
Both men were charged on 12 of July of outrage of modesty.
The offence carries an imprisonment term of up to three years, a fine, caning, or any combination of such punishments.
