UNCLE EXPLODES AT HUANG YILIANG HAWKER STALL OVER ‘1 CRAB RULE’

Customer Explodes At Actor Huang Yiliang Over ‘1 Crab Per Group’ Rule At Circuit Road Hawker Stall

A heated confrontation involving former Mediacorp actor Huang Yiliang has gone viral after a customer allegedly lost his temper over a one-crab purchase limit at the actor’s seafood hawker stall in Singapore.

The incident reportedly took place at Circuit Road Hawker Centre, where Huang recently opened his seafood business earlier this year. Videos circulating on TikTok showed a tense exchange between the actor and an unhappy customer who appeared frustrated after being told his group could only purchase one crab.

The clip quickly spread across social media platforms, sparking debate among Singaporeans over whether the restriction was fair or unnecessarily strict.

According to online posts, the customer had wanted to buy two crabs for a dining group of six people. However, Huang allegedly refused the request and explained that each group was limited to a single crab order due to limited stock availability.

The customer reportedly reacted angrily, shouting Hokkien vulgarities at the actor in front of other diners at the hawker centre.

Several people nearby, including two women and another man, were later seen stepping in to calm the situation and usher the customer away from the stall.

Huang Yiliang Says Crab Supply Is Extremely Limited

Following the incident, Huang explained that the restriction was implemented because crab supplies are especially low during the month of May.

According to him, many supporters travel long distances just to patronise the stall, resulting in heavy demand and long waiting times.

He shared that the one-crab policy was introduced to ensure more customers would have a chance to enjoy the seafood instead of allowing a few groups to buy large quantities.

The actor’s stall has reportedly been attracting massive crowds since opening earlier in 2026, with some customers queueing for hours just to place an order.

A TikTok user who uploaded footage of the incident later defended Huang in the comments section, describing him as hardworking and sincere toward customers despite the stressful environment.

The user also revealed that she had queued for more than two hours before finally getting her food.

Netizens Divided Over Hawker Stall Rule

The viral incident has since triggered heated online discussions among Singaporean netizens.

Some argued that the customer’s frustration was understandable, especially for larger groups sharing a meal together. Others, however, felt the customer had crossed the line by verbally abusing the stall owner over a food policy.

Many commenters sided with Huang, pointing out that hawkers dealing with limited seafood inventory often impose purchasing restrictions during peak periods.

Others also highlighted the growing pressures faced by hawkers in Singapore, especially when viral fame leads to overwhelming demand, long queues, and customer entitlement.

The incident comes amid continued public attention surrounding Huang’s new hawker venture, which has already generated headlines in recent weeks due to disputes and social media drama involving neighbouring stalls.

Despite the controversy, the seafood stall continues attracting large crowds at Circuit Road Hawker Centre, with many curious customers still willing to queue for hours to try the actor’s crabs.
