Having a hard time finding job, need some advice?
I am 29(M) this year. Graduated from a private University in general biz. Been finding a perm job since last year August 2022. Currently working as a temp contract staff(ending this year Sep 2023) at a gov sector.
The work is okay but i don’t really fancy the job scope and also as temp staff, i am not entitled to any of their benefits in terms bonus etc. I have been trying to get into a marketing industry, sending countless of resume and went through a few interviews with a few companies(the number of companies that even get back to you for a interview is significantly lower than 5) but due to no experience, they never really get back to me.
Have also try recruitment agency in terms of finding a marketing job but most of them want people that have experience, as such i was always been introduced to other industry such as sales, admin etc.
Also maybe due to the reason that i have nothing to show such as portfolio etc.. I also tend to avoid marketing agency (like this 1-1 mentorship, travel opportunity) as it looks a bit sus to me.
Any advice? Was near the point about giving up finding jobs that are related to marketing industry and just find any jobs that pay high or some HR/admin job.

I mean in general the economic outlook isn’t great and marketing has always been regarded as a cost centre rather than profit generating so firms are not looking to expand marketing during this period.

If all else fails, then ask if they can convert you to perm so you continue to have a paycheck while job hunting?
