NBC News was the first to report on the contents of the memo on 28 January after it was sent out on 27 January, according to Reuters.

NBC News reported that the signed memo was addressed to all the air wing commanders in the Air Mobility Command, as well as being sent to other Air Force operational commanders.

The general said in the memo that “we will fight in 2025”, citing a gut feeling that he had, although he added that “I hope that I am wrong.”

He pointed out that both US and Taiwan will be having election in 2024, which gives the president of China, Xi Jin Ping the perfect chance to attack Taiwan while the US is distracted with its own elections.

He concluded that Xi’s team, reason and opportunity are all aligned for 2025, and has told all the commanders to report all their major efforts by 28 February, to prepare for war with China.

He also issued instructions for the commanders, telling them what they should do in February and March.

For the month of February, he directed all the Air Mobility Command personnel to strike with the aim to kill, to “aim for the head” and provide an update on all records of their personnel and their emergency contact information.

For the month of March, he has told all his personnel to consider their personal affairs and wherethey a visit should be scheduled with whtier servicing base legal office to ensure that they are legally prepared and ready.

NBC also reported that the memo has hinted at the capabilities that US is possibly building up in anticipation fo the war, such as usage of drones.

Memo is authentic

The memo has been proven as authentic, although the Pentagon has said that General Minihan’s views do not represent the assessment of the military, or the US department of defence’s view on China, according to Reuters.

A spokesperson for the Air Mobility Command said that the orders in the memo issued by Minihan were for the unit’s efforts to get ready for future conflicts.

The US Secretary of Defence, Lloyd Austin, said earlier this month that he doubts China’s increase military activities in the Straits of Taiwan were an indication of an impending invasion.
