
The reason for the delay in US VP Harris’ trip to Vietnam has been reported to be concerns over an unexplained health incident related to the mysterious Havana Syndrome.
VP Harris arrived in Vietnam’s capital, Hanoi, after an additional three hours of delay in Singapore.
The US Embassy in Vietnam released a statement blaming the “recent possible anomalous health incident” for the delay.
It is a term used by the US government to describe the Havana syndrome which is a condition consisting of symptoms like dizziness, nausea, migraines and memory lapses.
The office of VP Harris was made aware of a report of a possible anomalous health incident recently in Hanoi, Vietnam.
The US embassy said that the decision for VP Harris to continue the trip was made after careful consideration, without elaborating further.
