I had been working with my colleague for a few months now and it had become very clear to me that he was completely useless.
He was a senior, which meant that despite the lack of actual work he was doing, he was still in charge.
Thinks because he is more senior and experienced he is smarter than everyone
He felt like he was entitled to a certain level of respect and appreciation that he just wasn’t getting from the rest of the team.
He had been assigned to a project that was supposed to be completed by a certain date, but he was dragging his feet and making hardly any progress. He was always making excuses and blaming other people for his lack of progress.
Every time someone was brave enough to confront him on his lack of productivity, he would just brush it off and say that he was smarter than everyone else and that they should just trust his judgement.
It was frustrating to watch, and it was even more frustrating to be stuck working with him. I had tried to talk to him about his lack of progress, but he just ignored me or came up with some sort of excuse.
It was clear that he thought he was smarter than everyone else and that he didn’t need to actually do any work.
Eventually, the project fell apart and my colleague was blamed for its failure. Everyone else was shocked, but I wasn’t surprised.
I had seen this coming from the beginning, and I knew that it was only a matter of time before his incompetence caught up with him.
The sad thing is that he still thinks he is smarter than everyone else. Despite the fact that his lack of effort and productivity had cost the company a significant amount of money and time, he still believes that he is the smartest person in the room.
It’s a shame, really, because he could have been a great asset to the company if he had just put in more effort.
Unfortunately, he was too busy thinking he was smarter than everyone else and it cost us all in the end.
