According to the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF), the accident occurred near the junction of Bukit Panjang Road and Bukit Panjang Ring Road. Two were sent to Tan Tock Seng Hospital, while the third was conveyed to KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital.

Photographs shared on Facebook groups such as Singapore Road Accident and Singapore road accidents.com show a green van sitting in the drain, with significant damage to its front. Nearby, part of the drain’s guard rail had been damaged, and faint tyre skid marks could be seen leading towards the rail. Police personnel were present at the scene, monitoring the situation.

SCDF ambulances and a fire engine were lined along Bukit Panjang Road during the rescue, highlighting the severity of the incident. Some onlookers expressed concern for the driver’s wellbeing and whether any school children were involved. Fortunately, the drain was not filled with water at the time of the crash, reducing the risk of more serious injuries.

Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances leading up to the accident. Residents and commuters are reminded to drive cautiously, particularly around junctions and areas with pedestrian footpaths. The incident serves as a reminder of the importance of road safety and attentive driving to prevent such accidents in the future.
