Here is what the camcar driver said

In this age of surveillance cameras aplenty, you and your partner chose to take the easy way out by not having the basic courtesy to leave a note, taking responsibility for your actions.

It started as careless driving that resulted in damages to my vehicle and completely forgiveable but your lack of responsibility is what that irks me.

It was impactful enough for the in-car camera to pick it up and when I was reviewing the footages, I literally saw my car shaking at the moment of impact.

You and your female partner obviously realised you have hit my car and from the footages, both of you were pacing up and down and examining the damages on your van then walked to mine and started doing the same.

I was hoping you both will be fine young adults and leave a note. No, I was wrong.

You lingered quite a while, even attempting to “buff off” the damages and alas, you chose to drive away a couple of minutes later.

Damages to our vehicles are common and can be easily resolved. They are after-all, machines.

But walking away and not taking responsibilities, is not. From the footages, you both had plenty of opportunities to leave a note of sorts but you chose not to.

Potential penalties

It is a punishable offence to leave the scene of an accident, which is considered a hit-and-run – upon conviction, first-time offenders face a fine of up to $3,000 or a jail term of up to 12 months.
