VICTIMS LOST $209,000 TO SCAM “BUY MOVIE TICKETS AND GET PAID” JOB

There are always new scam tactics used by scammers and one would need to educate themselves to prevent getting scammed.

The Singapore Police Force recently posted on Facebook warning about the reemergence of job scam variant.

In their post they said:

A variant of job scams has re-emerged, promising commission through the purchase of movie tickets to boost films. Victims would be convinced it was legitimate and then be subsequently be asked to make more payments for ‘deluxe’ or ‘premium’ tickets, and would not be able to withdraw their money.Read the online article to find out more on the precautionary measures you can adopt and share them with your loved ones to prevent them from becoming the scammers’ next prey

Penalties for Cheating

Anyone found cheating under Section 420 of the Penal Code 1871. The offence carries an imprisonment term of up to 10 years, and a fine.
