Le Huy Nam, 31, a Vietnamese national, pleaded guilty on Thursday (25 Feb) after molesting a 27 year old Burmese woman while restraining her, with one count of sexual penetration to be taken into consideration.
After seeing the woman coming out from a toilet, he felt a “sexual urge” and he then proceeded to push the woman back into the toilet and molested her.
Le, who was working as a chef at that point in time, groped the woman under her shirt and exposed himself to her. He then forced the woman to pcc him with her hand for five minutes, but when he tried to pull down the woman’s pants, she resisted.
Le only stopped when the victim’s roommates knocked on the toilet door.
Deputy Public Prosecutor Rebecca Wong sought four-and-a-half years’ jail with six strokes of the cane for Le, saying that had the victim’s friends not intervened, Le might have been successful in his criminal endeavour.
Le’s sentencing has been adjourned to 3 March.
