In late December a mother and her 7-year-old daughter were thrown out of their home by the daughter’s father, with only $85 and no job they had no choice but to seek help from the MP.
Sun Xueling posted the following Facebook post and seek household items for the mother and daughter.

Dear Residents,Mdm N and her 7 year old daughter came to look for me during MPS in late Dec. She had been chased out of her house together with her daughter, by her husband. She had $85 left with her, no job, and was living in a crisis shelter in Serangoon.
She shared that when her daughter starts school in Jan in Punggol, she would have difficulty with transport and expenses. She has no relatives in Singapore as she is originally from Vietnam. Her 7 year old was with her and looked lost and confused as her mother was crying as she pleaded for help.
That night we piled the child with all the confectionery we could find in the branch and we gave them some cash to tie over. Today, with the help of HDB, a rental flat has been allocated to Mdm N and they look forward to moving into their new home. I am grateful to the HDB. However, Mdm N shared with us that she has no money to buy any furniture. The following pic is how her rental flat looks.
