A 25-year-old street vendor in Chiang Mai, Thailand; who previously went viral for wearing skimpy and revealing outfits to draw in customers, lodged a police report for harassment.
The report comes after she was harassed by a fake Line account allegedly belonging to a man who was obsessed with her, asking her to have intercourse with him and sending her obscene messages.
Became famous for her skimpy outfits
The 25-year-old, who goes by the name Nong Olive, operates her street stall in Chiang Mai selling Thai pancakes called “Khanom Tokyo”, and is well known for exposing her cleavage and midriff to draw in customers to her stall.
Before she became known for her business marketing tactics, she previously made a living by selling clothes online but her business shuttered due to the pandemic, and she turned to selling snacks instead.
When she first started her business, the nursing student was only selling about 30 boxes per day, before she started wearing her friend’s low-cut tops, and her sales then went through the roof.
Customers started queuing up for her food and asked her for photos as she prepared their food for them.
However, she has also faced backlash from the public, with the Chang Phueak district council office calling her out for disrespecting the city’s culture.
She was also issued with warnings by the local police for her outfits, with officers threatening to fine her for public indecency.
Olive then apologised to the people that she had offended, saying that she was just trying to support herself and make her own money.
She said that customers would queue up before her shop had even opened, and they would pose with her and share the photos online, making her business even more popular.
She then promised to dress differently and cover up more of her body in future, as she works at her snack stall.
