This dramatic episode occurred outside a shopping mall in the Malaysian state and transpired on the evening of Saturday, November 4th.

Attacked during livestream

Wang Lei’s son, known as Louis but often referred to as Sell Fish Boy, was engaged in a Facebook livestream at a Thai food street bazaar situated outside Island88, a prominent Penang shopping mall.

During Louis’s livestream, a netizen’s video captured Malaysian influencer Nelson Phan approaching him amidst a crowd of people.

Phan’s actions quickly escalated the situation as he forcefully grabbed Louis by the neck and jacket from behind, gesturing for others to move away.

Footage of the incident shows the Thai Hot Guys, who were participating in the livestream with Louis, attempting to pull Phan away from him.

The video reveals Phan trying to kick Louis, who eventually decided to walk away from the aggressor. The Thai Hot Guys continued their efforts to separate Phan from Louis.

Phan’s accusations

In the video, Phan claimed that the group needed a permit for livestreaming overseas. Another man, dressed in a white T-shirt, was also seen attacking the Singaporean livestreamer.

Later in the same video, Phan expressed his disappointment that Wang Lei was not present and accused Louis of initiating the altercation.

Phan addressed Wang Lei in the video, saying that he was actually waiting for him and he was lucky his son was there instead of him.

He also took out some condoms and sanitary pads from his bag and said that they were for Wang Lei, before adding that he had “warned” him not to “play with our (Malaysian) women”.

Wang Lei & son respond, calls attacker a “dog”

Following the incident, Wang Lei and his son took to a Facebook live stream to respond to the Phan, calling him a dog and refuted his claims.

Louis also added that he was attacked by another man, who was part of a group of about 20 gangsters who pushed him down and stomped on him.

Wang, increasingly agitated in the video, said that Phan even lied to the police and claimed that he was the victim instead.

Event organiser responds

The event organised, Eventers, later issued a public statement on the situation and said that they have reported the incident to the local police.

They also added that they strictly adhere to the Malaysian laws and regulations when organising their events, and will take legal measures for the “losses” resulting from the conflict.
