‘Weird’ Man Allegedly Follows 2 Women Around Sengkang Before Running Away When They Chase Him
A seemingly unsettling encounter in Sengkang took an unexpected turn after two women who believed they were being followed decided to turn the tables on the man they suspected was watching them.
The incident was captured on video and later shared on TikTok, showing the man hiding around HDB blocks before eventually running away when one of the women and her friend gave chase.
According to one of the women, who uses the online moniker muahchee, the incident happened after she and her friend had bought ice cream from a supermarket in Sengkang. The pair were looking for somewhere to sit and chat before settling at a nearby bench.
Man allegedly approached women with unusual request
The women reportedly noticed a man repeatedly walking around them while they were talking. They described him as an older man who appeared to be balding and was wearing a grey T-shirt.
According to muahchee, the man eventually approached them and allegedly asked: “Can I pay you to do something for me?”
The request immediately made the women uncomfortable. Her friend reportedly told him to leave, but he allegedly remained nearby and continued asking them to “help” him despite being told several times to go away.
The man eventually walked off, prompting the two women to leave the area as well because they were concerned that he might return.
However, the situation reportedly did not end there.
Women spotted him hiding near HDB blocks
As the pair were leaving the estate, muahchee said she noticed someone looking at them from a car park.
She allegedly saw the same man sneaking around before he moved towards another HDB block and began hiding behind the pillars.
Muahchee said she used her camera to zoom in on the person and became convinced that he was the same man they had encountered earlier.
The video subsequently posted online showed the man apparently crouching behind pillars. One of the women could be heard pointing him out while the pair discussed what to do next.
Her friend appeared considerably more willing to confront the man, with the women eventually deciding to approach him.
Man runs when women chase after him
In footage shared online, the man could initially be seen waving his hands before suddenly running away.
The women followed him, with one reportedly telling him that she would chase after him.
The chase did not last particularly long, however, as the man was apparently able to outrun both women.
Muahchee later joked about the unexpected turn of events, saying they had gone from getting ice cream to chasing a person they believed had been following them.
She also claimed that the man shouted “I’m sorry” while running away.
The video was accompanied by captions referring to the unusual situation and the women’s decision to follow the suspected follower after believing they had been followed themselves.
No police report was made
Muahchee also said she suspected the man may have been attempting to record her and her friend at some point because she noticed his phone apparently pointing towards them.
Despite the uncomfortable encounter, the women did not make a police report.
Muahchee said her friend instead wanted to confront the man after becoming frustrated by his alleged behaviour.
The incident has since attracted attention online, with viewers reacting to the unusual decision by the women to pursue the man rather than simply walk away.
While the circumstances shown in the video are based largely on the women’s account, there has been no indication from the source that the man was formally identified or that any police investigation was launched.
For anyone who believes they are being followed or watched in public, personal safety should remain the priority. Moving towards a crowded or well-lit location, contacting someone trusted and seeking assistance from the authorities may be safer than confronting or chasing a stranger.
